Since 2005 the government has recommended 5-13 servings of fruits and vegetables per day because of overwhelming evidence that phytonutrients prevent disease. A recent AARP survey found in adults over 50 per state not more than 17 percent reported compliance with the minimum (2+ fruits 3+ vegetables). Any wonder why we are a fat sick nation? As I’ve always said – back to basics. Clean whole foods daily!! Take a look at what you eat in just one day. How much of it came premade out of a box or through a “window”. Begin to balance that with food that looks like it did when it came out of the garden or butcher’s.
